Cash Handling Automation 101The handling of cash, be it as a customer pays the cashier for their cup of coffee with a crisp 20 Dollar bill, or while the manager balances the register or till to leave the proper float/ change, or while she prepares the nights deposits and vault drops, is a responsibility that requires: Concentration, Accuracy, Consistency, Organization, & Multiple Counts / Recounts In handling cash the person responsible for the transaction should assure that the actual count matches the transaction(s). Unfortunately, we humans tend to make many mistakes and lack the speed and concentration to count, batch, add and detect counterfeits efficiently.
Why use Cash Handling Solutions? Currency Counters and Counterfeit Detection Solutions save time and money by quickly and accurately counting and discriminating money. This increased efficiency allows for decreased opening and closing times, which can represent thousands of dollars per year in payroll savings as well as decrease register shorts cause by counterfeit losses. As these products become more affordable and easier to operate more and more retail business, restaurants, schools, and place of worship are benefiting from the machines bank and credit unions have learned to depend on. Cash Handling Solutions and how they work Currency counter counting systems consist of bill counters and coin counters. There are two basic methods/ or classes of currency counters:Counters by Weight and Optical Counters known as Friction Counters.
While weight based systems provide the flexibility of coin and paper note counting in one they there are many variables that could affect an accurate reading, like automatic starting air conditioning units or even a slight breeze through an open window, which frequently alter the result on their delicate sensors. The lack of reliability of the weight bases system has led to the dominance of the friction based counters as evident in their use in the financial industry. These types of bill and coin counters like those produced by AccuBANKER rely on more robust optical sensory systems to count. This system in addition to providing a more stable platform also allows for simultaneous recounts and additional functionality like batching and counterfeit detection. How friction bill counters work: As bills are placed in the counting hopper of the money counter and the machine takes the money up through the machine, and past special optical sensors that count and measure certain parameters allowing for the user to count, add, batch, detect for counterfeits, and in some machines even discriminate between different denominations. Some bill counters are designed to exclusively handle US currency like our AB6000, while others can be used all around the world and are designed to be able to count various types of paper money. Bill counters that are capable of sorting and discriminating different denominations are called Mix Note Counters or Discriminators or can also be referred to as Value Counters. At this moment AccuBANKER does not produce a Mix Note Counter. Several models are available in the market and are priced between $2,800 and $5,000. AccuBANKER offers a complete line of professional bill counters that are reasonably priced well under $1000 in order to meet the high demands of our retail and financial customers while still providing them positive return on their investment. As they pass optical sensors that measure and determine their value based on their diameter and then are sorted into their corresponding bin or tube. How Counterfeit Detectors Work: See Counterfeit Detection 101. |
